Wrong drive letter OSDISK
I’m deploying Windows 7 using SCCM
/ MDT 2010
I’m booting from a task sequence iso to deploy the OS.
SCCM formats the disk as C:\ the image is applied to that disk and the system reboots and performs a “mini setup”. The next time
I’m able to enter the command prompt (using F8) the OSDISK has the letter D:\. I like it to be C:\
I don’t understand why this is happening??
Any ideas?

It describes my problem, but I don’t think that if got the same situation
I capture my golden image that is created by a task sequence that task sequence is using as source the install.wim from the win7 cd. After
the capture the machine reboots and I’m able to login the OSDISK is then using c:\.
After the capture I deploy the captured image using another task sequence.

This happens if you use the standard image (install.wim) from the Windows 7 DVD. This image was captured from a reference machine that had the operating system on volume D:.
You need to build you own image using a Build and capture task sequence.Ronni Pedersen | Configuration Manager MVP | Blog:

You need to use a "Operating System Install Package" (full set of source files), when you build the image... Dont use the OS Image (install.wim).Ronni Pedersen | Configuration Manager MVP | Blog:
