Workstation not showing up under All clients or All computers in SCE 2007
SCE 2007 is running on a W2k3R2 box with a SQL STD 32Bit 2005 Edition. All clients are XPPro SP3 in a windows 2003 Domain. On the 'Computers' view one particular workstation will not show up. I have checked that the workstation is in the SCE managed computers Group, Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the agent on the computer various ways(push and manual) I have doubled checked the WSUS config and the computer is listed in there after manually deleting it Idid the following 1. Stop the Automatic Updates service and BITS service.net stop wuauservnet stop bits2. Delete "%windir%\softwaredistribution" directory.3. Start the Automatic Updates service and BITS service. When these two services have been started, they will auto-create "softwaredistribution" and its subfolder at system directory.net start wuauservnet start bits4. After the "%windir%\softwaredistribution" directory has been generated, please let the client contact the WSUS server immediately.wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow5. After 15 minutes, please check the client to confirm whether it detects needed updates. Now the WSUS for the client is working correctly and seems clean in the windowsupdate.logI also can now see the computer in the 'Monitoring' View and every thing shows healthy (State, Agent, OS) However its still not showing up in any of thecomputer groups...Why is it doing this?Second issue I am having has to do with Computer groups, how come I can create a new Computergroup (lets say to deploy a pilot software update to a select group) and add workstations to it during creation, but if I try to add more workstations after the fact or delete a workstation, it doesn't update? Is this tied to the WSUS 3.0SP1 groups as well? Thanks

Hello srenman,Please chenck the problemetic client ifthe OSis cloned soit hasthe same SusClientId with another client. WSUS cannot distinguish one computer from another if the SusClientId is identical with each other. This is a known issue in WSUS. Read the KB article below for more information.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903262 To avoid this issue, you can clear SusClientId before making images. Also, you can delete the SusClientId manually on every machine. To do this, stick the following lines in a batch file and run it on all clients. And it should get fixed.net stop wuauservREG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v AccountDomainSid /fREG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v PingID /fREG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v SusClientId /fnet start wuauservwuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow I didn't understand clearly about the second issue you posted. Did you want to know how to add or deleteagents in an existing computer group? How to Add or Remove Computers from a Computer Group in System Center Essentialshttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb422982.aspxHope it helps.Yog Li - MSFT
