Workflow Task (SharePoint 2013) missing as content type?!

Hi everyone,

I'm currently having some troubles concerning the Workflow Task (2013) content type: it's missing!

The workflow manager etc. is configured successfully and I can create new 2013 workflow just fine, but when I try to follow these instructions: http://sivarajan.me/post/SharePoint-2013-Designer-Workflow-Creating-a-Custom-Task-Outcome-Part-3

I cannot select the suggested content type. Am I missing something?

With kind regards,

M. Hekman

Did you select the list content type as parent content type first? Just checking.

That is strange. You are saying you validated that "Workflow Task Content Type" feature is activated under manage site features.

In that case just de-activate and re-activate the above feature and see if it helps. Also check ULS logs for any potential errors when re-activating the feature.

Also confirm you are adding content types on the same site where you activated this feature.

Hi Hekman,

Based on your description, I recommend to check if the Workflow Tasks(SharePoint 2013) is listed in the Site content types in Site settings.

If yes, then you need to add the content type to the task list which you used in the workflow and then you can select the content type when you configuring the outcome options in the Start a Task Process or Assign a Task dialog.

To check which task list is used in the workflow, please open the workflow in SharePoint Designer, then you will see the task list under Settings.

Best regards.

Thanks

Hi Victoria,

I've checked it multiple times, still no content type called Workflow Tasks (SharePoint 2013). If that's not there, adding it to a list isn't possible.

An other site collection DOES have it. Same SPFeatures enabled, different results.

What could I be missing?

Best Regards,

Hi Hekman,

I recommend to check the content types in database to see if the site collection which does not contain the workflow task content type is listed.

SELECT [SiteId],[ContentTypeId]
  FROM [WSS_Content].[dbo].[ContentTypes]
  where [ContentTypeId]=0x0108003365C4474CAE8C42BCE396314E88E51F
As a workaround, i recommend to set the site collection which has the workflow task content type as the content type hub and then publish the workflow task content type.

Best regards.

Thanks
