Word Document Properties
Hi, First a little background: I have a document library with custom content types. Each content type is connected to a word template. Some of the columns for the content type are lookup columns. Everything works perfect and you can create a new document and edit the meta data within the Document Information Panel. But ... If you send a copy of a document to a person outside our company it will require a login to our Sharepoint Server every time the document is opened. I suspect that the lookup columns is the reason for this, but is there any workaround or am I doing something wrong while setting up my content types? Regards Nico

Hi, I can’t reproduce your issue in my local. When you down a copy to the local, the word have been disconnected with sharepoint server. If the Server properties depend on the sharepoint server like lookup column, the value will be displayed “currently unavailable” instead. The word was opened in local can’t connect the sharepoint server automatically. Can you do more testing in your environment for this? Hope this helps Thanks! Stanfford

I have never seen this behavior there is something besides metadata embedded in the document.... -Ivan Ivan Sanders My LinkedIn Profile, My Blog, @iasanders.
