WoL - NAC
Hi All. I have a problem, my customer is implementing NAC Layer 3 (Cisco) and We are implemented WoL using SCCM 2007 SP2 R2. Well when the pc is shutdown it is moved to a Authentication VLAN off the production network and the packet WoL is unable to find the pcs to power them on. I know the Sccm get the IP and Mac address from inventory HW. My issue is... how to get the SCCM know what it should use the Authentication VLAN? Thks for any help?

You're either going to have to go to a third party WOL like the one from Adaptiva or you may possibly be able to do the other type WOL on SCCM that doesn't use inventory. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |

Sorry, I was wrong. I knew it could change IP's but I was unaware the client had to remain on the same subnet. Your only choice is a third party solution. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |

Hi Jhon. It is possible that this functionality would be implemented in some patch, Service Pack or maybe next version of SCCM (VNext .. ) ? Consider that in these days most companies implement these mechanisms of NAC implementing Authentication VLAN. Thks.
