Wish list or am I missing something
In ZCM 10, the Novell counterpart, I cant create a remote login policy and assign per group. it seems to be global in sccm 2007. Also, ZCM has way more applications and patching suggestions out of the box, where in SCCM I have to run inventory, download the proper update, package and deploy. Anyone?

The actual issue here seems to be escaping me. First of all, SCCM is not going to be the same as ZCM, every system like this has their pros and cons. So you're saying that you could deploy to a user group in ZCM but not in SCCM? You can do this, but it does require a little configuration. First you need to enable Active Directory User and Security Group discovery in site settings. Once that's done you will be able to create collections based on users and/or groups. See this article for more on that: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632733.aspx Also user policy/login script type configuration is probably better handled with GPO's rather than SCCM. Next, ZCM has more app and patching suggestions? I'm not sure what that means exactly (I'm not familiar with ZCM). Patching in SCCM is done via WSUS if you're talking about Microsoft patching. So you'll need a WSUS infrastructure setup and will need to deploy the SUP role to a server. See this doc for more on updates: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb633119.aspx As for the application "suggestions", I'm totally lost on that one. I don't know know what you mean by suggestions. Scott Gill SCCM Consultant

There is really no need to get all defensive here... I am afraid both of you missed wide. Supporting apps patching out of the box has nothing to do with SUS. And thanks for the answer regardign policy per group.

Once again, not sure what you mean by missing wide? You are looking for answers that don't really exist: you are truly trying to comparing apples to oranges here and must move out of the technical implementation details first.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys
