Windows update clent is not working, non of them helped - KB3050265 KB3065987 KB3075851

Hello Gents, I tried to install KB3075851 on windows 7 x64 with a promise to fix issue with windows update client. So after patch has been installed, client started to work, until next reboot. So error message is back even patch which has been released in August 2015 doesn't seem to be working at all. Sadly this patch replaces previous versions so there is nothing to fix windows update client. Very disappointing.

error in the log:

WARNING: ISusInternal::GetUpdateMetadata3 failed, hr=8007000E

previous releases:

Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems
(KB3050265)

Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems
(KB3065987)

is there any workaround until Microsoft releases newer version of it? Thanks!

I have always been reluctant to do anything in the WSUS tool as there are lots of statements where people have said that this is unsupported by MS when using SCCM.  I have however carried out a WSUS Server Cleanup on all the WSUS servers checking all the components (which took several days).  BTW, don't forget you need to install the pre-requisit WSUS Server Patch 2938066.

Yes we do have lots of SCCM deployments.  I dont think it matters what deployments you have, since I suspect the failure is just at the scanning point, i.e. where WSUS is comparing the patch catalog with what it has installed to see which patches are missing.  Although I could be wrong.

Incidentally we also had this error on several other account, which was resolved by the first of the WSUS client patches.  The issue we have now is with a, account who are heavy users of their PC's
