Windows authentication and Forms authentication for Report Server
We have SharePoint Foundation 2010 web application that uses Windows authentication and FBA (forms based authentication). Windows auth for internal users and FBA for extranet users. Now we want to publish reports from Report Server to SharePoint. I need help to find best solution so Windows users AND FBA users both can open those reports.

I planned doing this by copying data for extranet reports to SharePoint SQL Server database. Create second Report Server to SharePoint server and create separate reports for extranet (FBA) users so they can open those reports. How this sounds? Any pros and cons in this solution?

Hi Matias.Koppinen, According to your description, you would like to both of domain users and FBA users can access reports in SharePoint, right? Please correct me if my understating is wrong. In that case, I suggest you can use forms based authentication in SharePoint to achieve your target. I am afraid we cannot use both Windows authentication and Forms authentication for Report Server. For more information about the topic, please refer to the following article: How to: Configure Report Server Integration in SharePoint Central Administration: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb326213(v=SQL.100).aspx If you have any question, please feel free to ask. Thanks, Eileen

Hi Eileen, Yes, I like to both users access reports. Do you mean Reporting Services in SharePoint Integrated Mode? The following features are not available on a report server that runs in SharePoint integrated mode: Reporting Services custom security extensions cannot be deployed or used on the report server. The report server includes a special-purpose security extension that is used whenever you configure a report server to run in SharePoint integrated mode. This security extension is an internal component, and it is required for integrated operations. Or do you mean that we create and upload report (.rdl) files to SharePoint?

My solution for reading reports for both auth users is this: - I use windows auth for Reporting Services - Domain users can view reports normally with reportviewer - I export reports for FBA users to SharePoint document library This way both users can read reports.
