Windows XP SP3 - Steady State - idle-timeout reboot does not work with screensaver or monitor power saving setting switched on...
Hi Using Steady State on Windows XP SP3. Having bother with the idle timeout restart i.e. if the pc is not touched for 45 minutes, it automatically reboots If no screensaver or monitor power saving settings are switched on (disk power saving is NEVER switched on) this works as expected. However - if the screensaver is set to come on after, say, 15 minutes, the idle timeout reboot does not occur. Likewise, if the screensaver is switched off, but a monitor power saving setting (15 minutes) is set, the idle timeout reboot does not occur. As I say, the disk power saving setting is never on. Any ideas? I'm finding this quite frustrating, as I would like either a screensaver or monitor power saving to come after 15 minutes of the pc not being used AND the pc to reboot after 45 minutes of not being used. Hope to hear from someone who has found a way round this issue. Thanks John.
