Windows Update is not available in Control Panel

Hi.

I upgraded Windows 10 ETP 9926 to 10041 and Windows Update disappeared from the Control Panel.

How to add it back? I made a lot fo restarts, but nothing has changed.

"Windows Update" is in "Settings"
  1. Click Start Menu
  2. Click "Settings"
  3. Click "Update & recovery"

I know. But in the last build (and all previous builds and Windows versions) it was also in Control Panel. It won't be in the classic (desktop) Control Panel anymore?

Hi Lukas,

In 9926, if you changed the regedit value you could display the windows update in the old control panel.

See these steps: Enable Windows Update in Control Panel - Windows 10 Build 9926

In 10041, this will also show the windows update in the old control panel but I have had problems checking for windows update. When I disabled the windows update from the old control panel, my windows update started running normally. So I guess, they have finally blocked checking updates the old way.

Hope this helps..

Thanks for the explanation.

The only thing I am dealing with is how to control checking updates from local WSUS server or from Windows Update servers. My computer is in AD with local WSUS server and from the classic Control Panel, I could choose between WSUS and WU, but unfortunately I don't see this option in the modern Control Panel. And our WSUS do not distribute updates for Windows 10...

I'm afraid the title "Windows Update is not available in Control Panel" is not fit for your intention, so it may cause some misunderstandings.
"How to make WSUS to do automatic updating?" .. i cannot make it better.

My problem is not with WSUS (actually, I am not an administrator of our local WSUS). My problem is how to check updates directly from WU (MU) servers, or how can I switch between checking from WSUS and WU/MU, as I could do before from the classic Control Panel.
