Windows Update Services & WDS
Hello all We're getting ready to deploy a fresh SCCM in our 2003 environment. My question is concerning Windows Update Services and Windows Deployment Services. I understand that SCCM needs both of these services however do I have to configure both of these services after installing them? For example WDS, step thru the wizard for the deployment share (D:\remoteinstall), etc? Or do I install both services without additional setup prior to SCCM.

You only need WDS if you plan to PXE boot for OSD. Don't configure WSUS. Just cancel the configuration wizard when it opens. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |

Hi, I always configure the WDS service prior to installing the PSP (PXE service point) but never the WSUS server.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products
