Does the list have any customizations/event handlers ? Also, does the name of the document being uploaded have any special characters ?

Hi Event log we are getting the below error. "The Descr#50071: Unable to connect the dataqbase <db_Name> on <seraver name>. check the database connection oinformation and make sure that database server is running.". The sametime we can upload the file. anyone can help me for this issue, I don't believe it's a database issue if not the file would not have uploaded. Recommend you look at the ULS logs. The ULS logs can be found in the 12 hive (<Drive>\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\LOGS). Once you navigate to this folder, order by date modified to see the latest log file. Then reproduce the error and note the time the error message was displayed. Open the latest log file (assuming you do this in quick succession) and try to find the error message that was displayed. Post the lines before and after that error message here or you could use your favourite search engine to find out what's happenning with those errors.

Can you share your Environment Details. Have you applied Service Pack 2 for WSS 3.0? Thanks & Regards, Kamlesh | Blog | Twitter | Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

I am assuming that this error is not a Show Stopper for you, but you are still concerned about the Error Message that is being written in your LOG file. Are you using the Windows Internal Database or have a seperate SQL Server? I notice that your log has ""The Descr#50071: Unable to connect the dataqbase <db_Name> on <seraver name>. check ". Whats the timestamp of the above error message? Does the timestamp matches your File Upload activity? Try further experimenting your Log reviews with SharePoint ULS Log Viewer. Thanks & Regards, Kamlesh | Blog | Twitter | Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

It appears that the error is of a complex nature and since the root cause is not known I recommend you make use of Microsoft's Problem Resolution Services. Details available here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=fh;en-us;offerprophone#faq607.
