Windows Server OS Not Discovered
Hello, We recently accepted two servers from the Pending Management queue into our production Management Group. Though both servers are reporting Healthy in views scoped on the Windows Computer/Windows Server classes, one of them is not being discovered at the Windows Server OS level. Furthermore, this server is reporting the following 2 events in the OpsMgr event log: Event Level: Error Event ID: 10104 Event Source: Health Service Modules Event Description: In PerfDataSource, querying for Global Snapshot failed with error 'Server execution failed' One or more workflows were affected by this. Workflow name: Microsoft.SystemCenter.AgentManagement.CollectPerfCounter Instance name: <FQDN> Instance ID: {C1997E8A-CFC3-1E76-3CE2-AB4EDB987C6D} Management group: <MgmtGroup> Note that the Workflow name in the above description changes from one entry to the next in the log. Event Level: Warning Event ID: 1103 Event Source: HealthService Event Description: Summary: 1 rule(s)/monitor(s) failed and got unloaded, 1 of them reached the failure limit that prevents automatic reload. Management group "<MgmtGroup>". This is summary only event, please see other events with descriptions of unloaded rule(s)/monitor(s). Any suggestions are appreciated. Larry

Hi, Please ensure you have imported the latest version of the Base OS MP: Windows Server Operating System Management Pack for Operations Manager 2007 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=9296 Meanwhile, please check the configurations referring to the MP guide. Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li TechNet Community Support

Hello, We ended up re-installing the agent from scratch, as we suspected corruption in the installation's binaries. This solved the issue. Thanks, Larry
