Windows Server 2012: Service problem after installing Windows Management Framework 3.0 (MS .NET Frame work NGEN)
Hello to all,
I have recently installed Windows Management Framework v3 on a Windows 2008 R2 Machine in order to run MS Server Manager. After I installed the framework, I noticed a couple of service errors showing up in server manager; they are as follows.
AMD-MINI1-W2K8 |
Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X86 |
clr_optimization_v4.0.30319_32 |
Stopped |
Automatic (Delayed Start) |
AMD-MINI1-W2K8 |
Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X64 |
clr_optimization_v4.0.30319_64 |
Stopped |
Automatic (Delayed Start) |
These services are being automatically stopped and I am unsure how to remedy the problem. Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all that reply,
Mike

Hi,
According to the message, this service is stopped and will started later when other services and programs need this service.
Based on the currents situation, please check if you can run Server Manager normally?

Yes, but these services are always shown in the Server Manager console as errors along with SPS for W2k8 R2 servers, which is annoying as it keeps one tab RED. Can we somehow disable monitoring of these services?

I usually hate to "me2" these things, but I'm in the same boat - I have a bunch of "errors" in my dashboard because of services that are set to start once on boot, then sit around and wait to be useful. It's not just the Framework services, there's
hardware detection, software protection, etc.
I'd love an option to right-click, then "ignore this error".

Same thing here, would very much like an solution :)

Ditto.
Also noticing the Software Protection Service (sppsvc) does the same thing, as does Integration Services, Analysis Services, our Tivoli backup service. All in all I have 21 service errors reported across 5 servers, and none of them are actually errors.
The Server Manager seems to go off of the very basic rule of if the Start Type = Automatic or Automatic (Delayed) and the service isn't running, then it must be broken.

Thanks! That makes it a lot easier to see actual problems with services.
