Windows File Share
Hi Everyone,I am creating a subscription in reporting services. For windows file share, you need to specify a path and this is the path I need to drop the PDF file in...T:\Credit Services\Letters_Customer Transfersand I get this error...The path is not valid. The path must conform to Uniform Naming Convention (UNC) formatHow am I supposed to write the path above? Thanks for your input

Hi, I the report subscriptions we need to specify the file path in the UNC format. Before this we need to make the folder as sharing. When we share the folder, we need to give the shared name only. So the path will be \\Computer_Name\ShareName Computer Name we can get from MyComputer icon on desktop--> right click --> Properties--> Computer Name. Ex: SHLBNG118. Note: No need to copy the full computer name (withoud domain name) For the shared folder, we need to right click on the root folder, for ex: D:\Reports --> Right click on this folder -->Reports-->Properties, we can find the Share Name. Copy this name, again if it has any sub folder , for ex: D:\Reports\Subscriptions, again we need to right click on Subscriptions foder, then properties and copy the sharing name. Note: we need to give full sharing option for this folder Finally we neeed to give the file path as: \\SHACBNG118\REPORTS\SUBSCRIPTIONS We can copy this and test in Start-->Run -->\\SHACBNG118\REPORTS\SUBSCRIPTIONS this will open the specified folder, so this path is correct. We can copy this and use it in the reports subscriptions. Kinldy reply, if you have further clarifications. Regards, Mahalingam

Excellent. It worked fine for me when I shared the folder but still can't get it worked for sharepoint shared folder. I think have to check the credentials of the system to that shared point. Anyway great post ...
