Whenver i try To Update Windows i get 0x8007042c. i also cannot Open My Startmenu as it closes right after launch. Sometimes it will open and i cant type anything into it.

What's your current build of Windows 10?

We have created a troubleshooter that you can download from this link that should work around the problem.

Once you click the link:

1. When prompted, tap or click Run.

2. If you receive a security prompt, select Yes.

3. The troubleshooter should run.

After that, try to open start menu again to check the result.

About Windows Update issue, that error code is related to Windows firewall. Please check if your Windows firewall is turned on.

I have that problem too. I get the same error when trying to update, I cannot open start menu as it closes right away and if the startmenu works I cannot type in it.
