Windows Connect Now and Wi-fi Access Point conflict when adding printer

I'm having a problem in adding printers of my office to my computer after upgrading to Windows 10.

The printers are on a campus-wide printing server which is public for anyone connected to the campus network. There is no credential request at all (or at least it automatically apply the credential information I used to log into the network).

After upgrading, when I try to access that server via File Explorer, a prompt will come up asking for my credential with targeted domain showing my computer name rather than that printing server. I can't get through that credential request with my user credentials but the techs in campus can get through with theirs and add the printers to my computer. However, after restart or leaving the network for a time long enough, all the added printer will tell me that their access was denied.

The other way around, I hit add printer in Control Panel. Some of the times, there will be a Windows Notification prompt up saying "Conflict found: Windows Connect Now and Wi-Fi Access Point are on different Wi-Fi channels. Performance might be degraded." Nothing happens when I clicked on it. When I hit the printer (from system memory since I was using it with 8.1) to add it, a message will prompt up saying "That didn't work: We can't install that printer right now......" and the detail shows a error code #3012.

I tried to directly Ping the printer server, all packages lost. I remembered trying "netsh winsock rest", nothing happens.

Accessing internet via this AP is fine though. Bit rough connection sometime, but it will get better a few minutes later. My own printer at home works fine. But the network structure is much simpler back home...

What should I do next =.=

Hi,

Since from your test, you cannot pin the printer server. It indicates that your computer and that printer server aren't in the same network.

Thus, please contact your campus IT admin to resolve your WiFi connection issue. Please check if have the sufficient permission to connect to that network. And let IT admin to check that access point's channel.
