Windows 8 freezing

I am struggling to work anything on my computer consistently; I can use it for a few seconds, and then it won't let me type of click. A few seconds later, I can type and click again but only for another couple of seconds. This repeats itself until it freezes for an even longer amount of time. I've also seen an error message appear stating, "The exception Privileged instruction. (0xc0000096) occurred in the application at location 0x764c3d6b."

PLEASE, HELP!

I don't even know what to try to fix it yet.

John

That latency can be caused by lack of ram, configuration issues, conflicting software, etc. Does it do the same thing in safe mode??

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:

Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file here (if you can) to skydrive or a file sharing service
