Windows 7 TS hangs at Install Software Updates
Hi We have a SCCM 2007 R2 installation which takes care of OSD, Windows updates etc. There are no other server used for WSUS. We are deploying some machines with a TS that will install Windows 7 with all updates, we had no problems so far but now we tried a different machine (also different model) which starts the TS as expected but then stops at the Install Software Updates step. I verified the connection to the SCCM server and also checked the cache for the updates, all of them are successfully downloaded into the cache, but the TS hangs untill I kill the process tsinstallswupdate.exe. I've found a similar problem at this forum, in that topic the machine is not joined to the domain. In our case the machine is already joined to the domain and other machines can successfully download and install the updates. When the TS is completed and Windows 7 is running the updates are installed, but i'd like them to be installed during the TS for this machine, like all other machines. Regards, Dennis

Just an update.... Moved the Software Updates installation down in the TS, it was placed just before some small programs that will be installed. Now it is moved to be installed after all the software is installed and it looks like it is running fine now. The only weird thing is that 5 different models have no problems at all with the updates being installed in front of all programs and 1 model does have problems...
