Windows 7 Steadystate
I just want to add my support for bringing Steadystate back to Window 7. We are a group of people that teach senior citizens how to use the computer. It is vital that we keep our systems in a "steady state". Without this feature in Windows 7 we will be forced to go to third party tools to accomplish the task. As a donations sponsored organization every penny counts.

Thank you for your supporting. I'd like to inform you that we still have not received any information on a Windows 7 supported Windows SteadyState.Sean Zhu - MSFT

I have found a way to install Steady State under Windows 7. After you download the program, just right click on the file, then properties, and under the compatibility tab, check the box to run it compatible with an earlier version of Windows. I tried this and it installed without incident. I'm not through yet checking out whether it all works normally, but so far it seems to work fine.

Willard, How is the Windows 7 compatibility going? Any issues thus far? Inquiring minds want to know. Philip Jealousy is not proof of love, nor proof of emotional immaturity

I also want to check in to see if this is still working well for you. We are trying to protect public library computer settings, and the commercial products have been a disaster with vista, so we want to upgrade to W7, but only if we can get something like SteadyState working! Phil McNulty
