Windows 7 OSD - Intel 82579LM driver

Hi guys, this week is a nightmare... hope you can help me again. Today the new HP compaq 8200 elite arrived today and i am trying to install Windows 7 with a task sequence. First i had to add the Intel 82579LM driver to the boot image to get the network card working in WinPE. I also created a driverpackage, including the newest Intel drivers for the 82579LM ethernet controller. (I also tried a package with the driver version from the HP website). After applying the OS Image, the "apply driver package" runs. But this task takes 15minutes to complete. And after the next reboot Windows isn't abled to start up. I get a error message: Windows failed to start. A recent harware of software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer. ..... File: \windows\system32\drivers\iastor.sys Status: 0xc000035a Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt. Can somebody tell me why this is happening? I never had this error before. What has the network driver to do with the iastor.sys file? The advertisment log says that the driver package was applied successfully... Is there another log, that could help me? Thanks in advance for helping. Kind regards Peter Weiger

HP 8200 Elite we apply an Intel Chipset Driver Package, Intel Network driver package and an Intel HD Graphics driver package, Post OS install the Intel Rapid Storage Software is installed, and the Intel Active Management Technology software. To get around the iastor.sys you may need to check what mode the SATA controller is in, I would have to check what mode we have it in probably AHCI from memory. @Redstorm How long does it take to run through these 3 driverpackages? I only have added and enabled the intel network driver package in my TS and it takes up to 15-20 minutes... So in fact i only have added the network driver, i don't understand, why it destroys the iastor.sys. I think there is a problem with my build and capture image.

I am realy getting headache now because of this. i added an older version of the driver to my server (11.8.84.0). This driver is working "Auto apply drivers", but not with "apply driver package", if i try to add it i get the error message 0xc000035a. I also tried to add the chipset driver package and it also takes 20 minutes to complete and gives me the 0xc000035a error message after reboot. I also created a new build and capture on a virtual machine. The image can't be the reason... Could someone help please?

Peter I think you issue is with the SATA driver, I had the same issue and you need to add a sata driver to an apply driver step in you task sequence. Here is how I did it for our intel DQ67SW board: make sure that the correct Device is configured in the Bios (in my case AHCI controller) download the SATA driver from intel import the drivers into SCCM and create and deploy package add a task sequence step "Apply Drivers" in options add a condition "SELECT * FROM Win32_ComputerSystem WHERE Model LIKE "%DQ67SW%"" in properties check the "select the mass storage driver....". Select the Intel ESB2 SATA AHCI Controller Select Model "Intel Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI controller" Select "Do Unattended installation........" Louis

Thank you so much Louis. I thought because of the fact that i have access to the hard this with the F8 feature the SATA driver couldn't be the reason...
