Windows 2008 server recycle bin limitation via policy not working (Filtering:  Denied (Security))
Hello, I am trying to activate a computer policy on windows 2008 servers. The servers run a program that we develop our selves, and customers access this program via the http. Sometimes our support staff logs in to restart services or update this software. They do this using their own userid. Doing this, will create a user profile on this server. This is acceptable. But i would like to limit their profile directory to 30MB. I definitely like to have a limitation on the recycle bin. I have a windows 2008r2 server with AD in the latest mode. So i have all features. When i created this policy i did the following: - under forest -> domain -> mydomainname.nl -> group policy objects : New policy - security filtering was set to one test server - i linked this gpo to the domain, so it would be used on all computers , but because of the security filltering only on the computer set there) - in the policy i activated: User group policy loopback processing mode: enabled and replace Do not move deleted files to the recycle bin: Enabled Limit profile size: enabled and 30000KB, no registry files and notify user enabled every 5 mins When i then login to this test server with an account that has domain admin rights it does not work and gpresult shows: <<<< The following GPOs were not applied because they were filtered out ------------------------------------------------------------------- windows 2008 server recyclebin Filtering: Denied (Security) Local Group Policy Filtering: Not Applied (Empty) >>>> When i login to this server with another account that has normal user rights, this user does not see the policy at all when running gpresult /r I checked if the securtiy rights were ok ( i never changed anything like that, everything was default), but they seem to be ok. The computer has the read and apply rights set. I have no idea what to do next, nor why this does not work. Any help is greatly appreciated.wilma
