Windows 2008 Servers in client group?!
Have installed the newest "Windows Server Base OS" Management Pack, because SCE was nearly unable to monitor anything from our Windows 2008 x.64 SP2 servers. SCE displayed everything in the Windows Operating system category as "not monitored". Have installed the following MP: http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/7/b/f7b960c9-7392-4c5a-bab4-efbb8a66ec2a/Windows%20Server%20Base%20OS%20System%20Center%20Operations%20Manager%202007%20MP.MSIDon't knowif it is exactely since then, but have discovered today that all our productive servers are displaying various client applications in Windows Update. Found the reason after a short investigation: SCE had the great idea to add all our x.64 Windows 2008 servers to the client group! They are still in the servers group as well.Does anyone have an advice how we get these servers out of the SCE client group?Thank you in advance for any helpFranz

Hello Franz,Firstly, you can try to delete the agents from the SCE console and then re-add them to see if it works. How to Stop Managing a Computer with System Center Essentialshttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb437370.aspxIf it doesn't work, you can also try to delete the wrong entities directly from the DataBase:1.Open SQL Server Management Studio, execute the statements below for a server machine which is displayed in the "All Clients" group: Select TopLevelHostEntityId from basemanagedentity where Path like %ComputerName%Select TopLevelHostEntityId from basemanagedentity where Name like %ComputerName%2. Each command will return one same TopLevelHostEntityId,which looks like"788B4DD4-8737-BCD5-4CAB-85AD45FF11EB".3. Execute the statements below to delete the wrong entity:Update BaseManagedEntity Set Isdeleted=1 where TopLevelHostEntityId = 788B4DD4-8737-BCD5-4CAB-85AD45FF11EBHope it helps, Yog Li - MSFT

Hello Yog LiThank you for your help. But it's very strange: Would implement the tasks that you have proposed and discovered, that the Windows 2008 servers are disappeared automatically from the SCE client group! They have been in the client group for at least three days after installing the SCOM 2007 management pack that I mentioned in my initial post.best regards,Franz
