Hi there...

I was getting the same error on my laptop KB3035583 not able to run...!!

I tired installing windows 10 by media creation tool 64 bit.. but it failed too...it says failed in starting intial working directory....!!!

What to do next now...!!!!

How do I reset Windows Update components?

If the above fails then try the followings:

Use DISM command:

I) Press Windows + x on your keyboard.

ii) Select Command prompt (Admin) to open Administrator Command Prompt .

iii) In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands. Press the Enter key after each command:
     dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
     dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

 Using sfc /scannow

a. Click on Start button and type cmd in search box.

b. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

c. Type the following command and hit Enter.

sfc /scannow

If above suggestions didn't work, please Copy everything in the "$Windows.~WS" or  "$Windows.~BT"directory onto an empty USB, delete the old directory, then run "Sources\Windows\setup.exe" from that USB.

Can we get Windows 10 installed properly now?
