Windows 10 Insider Preview - Defaultuser0
Hi, I'm a student at a Microsoft Academy School (or whatever they're called, I can't remember), and this basically means I can download lots of Microsoft products for free. And when I saw that there's Windows 10 Insider preview I can download, I downloaded that. I put the ISO on a VMware. I've kinda managed to get that working except for the fact that when I turn it on, it boots up as normal but on the Welcome page it's telling me to log in as 'defaultuser0'. Since it's on a VMware, I can't shove a password reset disk in it. Anyone have any ideas on what I could do? Thanks!

Hi,

Where did you get the iso? Please make sure that you got the offical iso

Pro

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/preview-iso

Enterprise

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-enterprise-insider-preview

If you can confirm that it's an offical iso, then I recommend you reboot the system into repair mode\Advanced startup settings, then refer to the solutions in the link below (reply posted by veeramani k), check if it can help you login to the system

It's from Microsoft Dreamspark (https://e5.onthehub.com/WebStore/OfferingsOfMajorVersionList.aspx?pmv=bbb028f3-65f2-e411-940c-b8ca3a5db7a1&cmi_mnuMain=bdba23cf-e05e-e011-971f-0030487d8897&ws=38702e9c-8db9-e111-ad8d-f04da23e67f6&vsro=8) but I'm also downloading the Insider Pro that you listed in your reply. How would I put it into repair mode?

Hi,

The offical Microsoft DreamSpark website is the following URL with a domain name www.dreamspark.com not the link you referred to.

https://www.dreamspark.com/Institution/Subscription.aspx

To use Windows Insider Preview, please use the link I pasted in my first reply.

Regarding to the repair mode, on the login screen page, press "Shift" while clicking the restart icon (on the right bottom corner of the screen), this can bright you to the troubleshooting mode.

But since your iso is downlaoded from an unknown website, so I recommend you perform a fresh installation using a offical iso.
