Windows 10 Apps have no Internet

So I updated from windows 7 to 10 the other day, and the problem I have now is that all windows apps and Edge have no internet connection, with the exception of windows update and activation. File explorer also seems to be affected as I can not connect to my network drives. The desktop programs work fine; My chrome, steam, and other desktop programs all have an internet connection.

I've tried reinstalling the network adapter and I have all the latest updates, but nothing seems to fix the problem.

Has anyone ran into this? Is there a solution?

Thanks

I am having a similar problem, but I have almost the opposite set of apps that do and do not have the Internet connection.  I am connected via cat6 cable and not by Wi-Fi.

GOOD:  Windows 10 activated without a problem. Windows update installed several updates (but did not install one for an HP printer).  Edge works great.  I do have access to my office files through the VPN, Outlook is able to send and receive messages (which includes Google Apps Sync), Skype works, CrashPlan is running, iTunes radio works, and my anti-virus program (ESET) successfully completed an update of the virus signatures.  Directory Opus has a good FTP connection.  Metro (Windows 8 apps) appear to be working, including Flipboard and the Wall Street Journal, but I have not tried them all.

BAD:  IE 11, Firefox, Chrome, OneDrive, Evernote, LogMeIn, Dropbox, RoboForm, Verizon Message+, TurboTax, DymoStamps, and Dreamweaver, all report no Internet access.

I have disabled my anti-virus and firewall protection (ESET) and the firewall protection on my router (ASUS), but that made no difference.  I may have to revert to Windows 7.

Any suggestions?

DGP-inc,

Please open your CMD with admin rights, then run the command below:

Ipconfig /flushDNS

If the above command runs smoothly, then please check if the app would gain Internet access again.

Otherwise, check to see if DNS client service is running under Services.msc.
