All our notebooks are managed by SCCM 2012 R2 SP1. Like most folks, we take our notebooks home, sometimes for many days.

I just learned about Windows Update Delivery Optimization and wonder how other SCCM admins are planning on dealing with WUDO. I found that my Win 10 Enterprise system, with a SCCM 2012 client on it, was configured to get updates from other PCs on the local network under the "Updates from more than one place" section. I want to disable this since I'll take care of deploying updates. Is that what others are doing?

Also, I noticed that Defender would not download definition updates unless I enabled the "Give me updates for other products when I update Windows" option. Are others doing the

Are you using ConfigMgr for software Updates or WSUS? if you use ConfigMgr you can turn off those featrures using GPO's and hope for support for it in future versions of SCCM.

If you are using windows Update then you must enable "Give me updates for other..." if you use ConfigMgr for manainging software updates you need to create and ADR in ConfigMgr which distributes Windows Defender updates but no need to change that setting.

We're using SCCM for software updates. We do have an ADR for SCEP and Defender defs within the office but not for anyone off the network. Our SCEP clients are able to check for updates on their own if a machine is off the network but it appears in Windows 10 and Defender, that's not the case. Too bad.
