Will changing the schema owner to dbo affect sharepoint from running?
I had a CIS benchmark audit performed on my SQL Server 2005. A finding states that I need to ensure dbo owns all user-created database schemas. My SQL server serves no other purpose than being the sql server for my sharepoint environemnt. Will changing the schema owner to dbo affect sharepoint from running?

The first rule of changing SharePoint's SQL database is: Don't change SharePoint's SQL database. It may affect it or not. I've never heard of anyone doing this. In nearly every case to the general question "can I change the SQL database" the answer is "Microsoft wont' support you if you do." Someone may have a more reasoned response :)--Paul Galvin, Computer Generated Solutions (CGS) Microsoft MVP - SharePoint Blogging @ http://feeds.feedburner.com/PaulGalvinsSharePointSpace Twitter @ http://www.twitter.com/pagalvin

No, Paul, that about covers it. I will add that - since the report states "user-created databases" I'm not sure that SharePoint falls under this, since, generally speaking, SharePoint creates the databases.Imagine what we could be...If we could just imagine. Daniel A. Galant
