Will Report Builder 1.0 (2005) Reports Break When An Existing Entity Is Changed Within the Model?
I have 623 reports that have a dependency (display the field and/or use it as filter criteria) on the an entity named Account Number
as it is published today.
Is it possible to change the underlying Account Number field definition (a Named Calculation associated with a table within a DSV) without
breaking all of these existing reports. I know that simply removing the field or changing its name will break the existing reports, but I’m hoping that it’s possible to change the underlying field definition and leave the field name
the same without breaking the existing reports.

Hi Bill,
You can do this by changing name query form DAV file...If will not break the model..
Just you need to go through the DSV file, right click entity and select replace table with new named query..
Here, you can change the defination in SQL query
Note:- Also test this in QA environment and make sure to take a backup of model before this change..- Chintak (My Blog)
