Will MP and WSUS roles on R3 site server interfere with R2 client
Hello, We are planning to upgrade an R2 site server to R3. On the server there is an R2 client of a different site. Someone brought to my attention that there will be conflicts on this server. He states the management points and WSUS roles use the same code as the clients that are installed therefore R2 client will interfere with the Primary Role of the R3 server. Can anyone confirm this?

On the server there is an R2 client of a different site. [...] He states the management points and WSUS roles use the same code as the clients that are installed Does that mean that the client on the siteserver itself is assigned to another site? Is there any reason for this? Could you please clarify the second statement, too?Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Yes, the client on the site server that is to be upgraded is itself assigned to another site that is running R2 and will not be upgraded. We have different SCCM hierachies for different management groups. Unfortunately I do not have more information about the interference. Just that the same code is used in the client and the MP and WSUS roles of the site server and that will lead to conflicts. I cannot find any information on this in the forums and the person who gave me the info is not available for some time to clarify.

There will be no issues with WSUS. R3 is mostly a server side install. Without knowing what the issue they think exist, it is hard of anyone provide more details. http://www.enhansoft.com/
