Why and When to use SharePoint timer job?

Guys please suggest why and when to use SharePoint timer job? How it will be helpful in real time scenarios?

Hi,

You can use SharePoint timer job when you want to get data from different system or you want to send data to other system.There can be situation when you some job to be done everyday or every week or every month without anyone interaction.

Hi

Whenever there is requirement that going to happen every day,or at particular interval then you have to go with the timer job.Like you need to send email to users on every Monday or any data upload to share point from different system like sap or SQL.

And can be configurable,and run in the background.

Timer jobs can be used if any tasks that should start in sequence.once the timer jobs are set for specific time then the job will run accordingly and the task will be completed.so the manual running for any specific task will not required here.
