Why SOFTWARE UPDATE Missing!!!
It has been noted that few of the software updates are missing from "All Software Updates" under Software Updates in Software Library section from SCCM Console, Knowing the fact that all those missing software updates are the part of selected Software
update classification.
To be more precise - few of the KBArticles which suppose to be the part of Monthly Software update activity are not avai

Hi,
Do you have any examples of KB articles? have they been part of the Software Update group before? Are they superseeded and or expired, then they are removed as well.
Could that be the issue?

Jrgen

Hello Jorgen,
Thanks for the reply, mentioned below are the few KB articles which suppose to be available but some how not listed on "All
Software Updates"
1. KB2889923: This is the update
for Microsoft Lync 2013 32-Bit Edition.
2. KB2817430: This is the update for Microsoft Office 2013 Service Pack 1
3. KB3050265: This is the update for Windows Update Client for windows 7.
We agree with your comment that they may superseeded and then expire but above mentioned KB Articles do not have any supersedence t

Vinod7, what does logs do here???
what I am trying to say that few of the software updates are missing from "All Software Updates" under
Software Updates in Software Library section from SCCM Console, Knowing the fact that all those missing software updates are the part of selected Software update classification...
Why I am asking this because there is need to make few changes in our infrastructure (Client Environment).... and to do that KB articles are available but when we analyse those
KB Article we found them as the part of our selected Software update classification... but
those are not available!!

In our SCCM Office 2013 service pack has slightly different KB number, did You try searching by name:
Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB2850036)

Yes I tried searching by name as well... Now this is the Catch as KB2850036 does not supersedes KB2817430...
which means it got missed.

Well regarding - KB3050265: which is the update for
Windows Update Client for windows 7... If we're using Configuration Manager to manage updates,
ConfigMgr disables automatic updates of the Windows Update agent, so the Windows Agent hotfix in 3050265 will have to be deployed as a package, application, or as a software update from ConfigMgr....
But still not sure about the rest KB articles why those were missing despite of being the part of Catalogue.

ConfigMgr disables automatic updates of the
Windows Update agent,
This is not a correct statement. Many folks do this via GPO, but ConfigMgr does not do this in any way.
As for the others, they are probably superseded and/or expired or simply never were in the catalog as not every update in in the WSUS catalog.

Hey Jason, Agree with your comment that it has always been done via GPO....
Rather I should write... "ConfigMgr disables automatic updates
via GPO for the Windows Update agent,
so the Windows Agent hotfix in 3050265 will have to be deployed as a package, application, or as a software update from ConfigMgr...."
Now it make sense... Right ?
September 10th, 2015 2:38am
No, ConfigMgr does not do this. If you want to disable automatic updates, *you* must create the GPO.
The *only* thing the local policy that ConfigMgr creates does is to point the WUA to the WSUS instance where the SUP role is installed.

Jason, Thanks a lot for clearing the Doubt.
So it's not SCCM which disable automatic updates... Its GPO we created at Domain Level which disable automatic update (for
the Windows Update agent).
So what should I consider to be the strong reason for KB3050265
not having in our SCCM "All Software Updates"???

Sure. That update has been superseded multiple times already. The latest is 3083324: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3083324

Thanks a lot Jason.
