I am the site collection administrator of the site, but i find some people add a new subsite, but i am not aware of whom had added this site and i want to know, i prefer using the OOTB method or just UI to find who do this operation(Add subsite). >Why you cant deploy the code on production sever without knowing user name??? Yes, i cannot deploy code right now, as the production server is protected. (BTW I cannot ts to that server so i cannot see the log) Thank you for your reply! : )

>You can find site owner name in Owner group. The site permission inherits from its parent one, i cannot find the owner of the subsite in the People and Group. Is there a group like current site owner group exists in the subsite? Can you figure out which way i can find the owner of the subsite (Should be the one created)? Thanks,

Yes, there is group called owner. User groups / site groups do exist in all subsites. Those are common for whole site. Suppose your site name is "Issue Manager" then your group name will be Issue Manager Owners. As per my knowledge, if somebody is created a subsite then his / her name will be adding in owner group. Do it from your end also. Cheers, Hemendra-MCTS

A quick and easy way to do this is, if you don't have viewing access to the Owners to check the announcements list on the sub-site. If the standard greeting is still there, then the site creator will be credited as the article author and you'll know who created the site.http://www.final-exodus.net

@Hemendra But in my situation that there is no group called "<SiteName> Owner" , so this can be customized i think maybe feature stapling. But your anwser can sovle general question about it, my senarion seems a little special. Can you figure out the other way? Now, what i find in our SharePoint site is "Content Structure log" under "_layouts/settings.aspx". Then i can see the log there, there lists recently update but the log is not detail about "who" "Where" "When" "Do" "Action". Any ideas? Thanks anyway.

Hi all, Is there a way Microsoft could allow posting of screenshots in these forums to allow easier resolution of people's problems? i know we can upload screenshots on SkyDrive and place the link here but that can be really hectic as well, I know there may be the argument that it will overload the forum and all that, at least could there be a sidepanel for thumbnails of those screenshots uploaded to SkyDrive, so that when you click on it, it opens by this side on the right (a lot of wasted space don't you think? Am talking about -------> ------->------> -------> ------->------> I know a site that allows that and things are still kind of sane. Please MS, kindly look into this. Cheers! You've only got one life; help as many people as you can, and enjoy it while it lasts.

Yes, I can visit the layout page of the site no pages in the page library. Thanks, So, on the quick launch bar, clicking on the 'View All Content' page shows you what?http://www.final-exodus.net

_layouts/viewlsts.aspx this is the layouts page,of course i can visit the page. Actually the only things you should know are 1, there is no group called "<siteName> owner" when you created the subsite. This can be controled by feature stapling. 2, use the announcement list to identity the user who creates the subsite. The announcement list is provisioned when you use the team site template. But in my case the site is created using the Publishing template, so no such list, there are no pages in the page library neither. What i only find the relevent users who probably create the site is via the content structure log under the _layouts/settings.aspx but the infor is not detail. I need to ask each person if they create the site. This should not be the solution. So is there any other way to find who creates the subsite regarding to the conditions above? Thanks.
