You note down the version number. Then you go to one of the several pages that compare version numbers with SPs (and cumulative fix packs and fexes). Wait and someone will post a reply to this post with such a page (or google for one)FAQ sites: (SP 2010) http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com; (v3) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com and (WSS 2.0) http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com Complete Book Lists (incl. foreign language) on each site.

In addition to the above post: Go To Central Administration Operations page and select Servers In Farm to pull your Farm and Server Versions or you can use PowerShell on run the following command on each server. (get-item "hklm:software\microsoft\shared tools\web server extensions\12.0").getvalue("version") You can look up the service packs or updates using http://technet.microsoft.com/nl-be/office/sharepointserver/ee748587(en-us).aspx or type the version number into Google/Bing
