In our environment we have two DP forming DP Group. All clients are in the same boudary. No preferences like collections defined. All default.

Which DP is used by clients? Is it random ?

Is it useful to deploy an image of 10 gb to 2 DP's (Group) or just to one DP since there is no load balancing involved?

I would deploy the image to both DPs so that it balances the load a little... It's a matter of preference... You could also dedicate one DP for regular content and the other for OS images (if the load is similar).

Clients will never know anything about DP groups. They are just used for making the distribution of content easier. THere's no difference if content is deployed to 2 DPs manually or a DP group that contains those 2 D

Just to clarify, my reply was just addressing the content on the DP(s) not addressing the difference between deploying directly to the DPs vs the DP group.
