Whether Excel 2010 is supported in SSIS 2008?
Hi,
Can someone please let me know whether Excel 2010 files can be handled in the version of SSIS 2008. In SSIS 2008 version I can see that there is option till 2007. So I afraid whether can we use that or not.

AFAIK Excel 2010 supported in SQL2008 R2. SQL2008 will only work with Office 2007 and lower.

My Sqlserver current version is showing as "Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (SP1) - 10.0.2531.0 (X64) Mar 29 2009 10:11:52 Copyright (c) 1988-2008 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build
7600: )". So I believe it will not support Excel 2010 through SSIS?
Please let me know your view.

mmmmh I just opened an excel 2010 file in SSIS 2008 (no R2).
Just used the 2007 Connection manager. There are probably no differences in the file format (both .xlsx)

The RTM of 2008R2 version number is 10.50.1600.1. R2 can be recognized by "10.50" while regular 2008 is "10.0".
