Where is Layout View in SSRS?
I’m trying to learn SS Reporting Services now. I’m looking at some resources online and I’ve seen over a dozen examples of using something called Layout View, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere on my SSRS. I’m using Visual Studio 2008, ver. 9.0.30729.1 SP. My resources are for SSRS 2005. Maybe this view is called something different in 2008? I can go into design mode and I see ‘Design’ and ‘Preview’, but nothing called ‘Layout View’. I can’t follow the examples of Sorting and Grouping and many other examples, because I can’t seem to find this thing called ‘Layout View’. Maybe Layout View is Design, but even if it is, I still can’t find any of the controls that should be there according ot the resources that I’m looking at. Any/all help with finding this view would be most appreciated. Thanks! Ryan--

Also, I've seen a couple tutorials online and 'Report Parameters' are being used. I don't see Report Parameters under Report, in my Visual Studio 2008. Maybe these features aren't available in MS VS 2008?

Hi Ryan,I have just created project in 2008 and have seen that they have renamed Layout view to Design view.Press Ctrl+Alt+D when you are in Design view and there will be windows with Report Data. You can set parameters from there as it is also changed in 2008.Hope this helps.CheersVishal

Thanks so much, VS Patel! It seems like there were a few major changes in the interface. It's a little tricky to learn SSRS (for the first time ever) and practice the examples I'm seeing (all more than slightly different than what I see in my version). I'll get a handle on it...eventually. It's reassuring to know that things are working on my end (I had some serious problems with SSMS the first time I downloaded that...at the time I was just starting to learn that application). Thanks again! Ryan---

Hi Vishal & Ryan, What do you mean "Press Ctrl+Alt+D"? I tried but it does not work. Please advise. Thanks, Mark
