When granting permissions/access through the sharepoint console  I am getting sorry we're having trouble reaching the server error

Hi all,

I have installed sharepoint foundation 2013 along with Team foundation server 2013. Whenever I try to grant permission or access through sharepoint console I am getting the following error:-

"Sorry, we're having trouble reaching the server. Can you please tell me how to resolve this issue & how to find the reason of this error.

Thanks for help.

I am also facing the same issue due to the insufficient ram memory. Please check the RAM & CPU usage of your server while assign the permission. also you can see the memory related error in your event log

Hi Vishwajeet,

According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you accessed SharePoint site or granted permission.

For the issue, there are some reasons:

  1. The server does not have enough resources to process the function without timing out.
  2. If you are sure you have these minimum resources, which you probably do, its time to check HTTP Activation on the web server.
  3. Permissions

If this issue still exists, please check the log file to find more information about this error. The path of the log file is: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS.

Best Regards,

Wendy

Hi Wendy,

We have full resoucres on the server and the CPU Usage and Memory Usage are very less in terms of current configuration.

When I try to open the same page from an Internal network, there is no issue at all. All works smoothly without any issues and not getting the error as well. But when I try to access the server from outside (Internet) and try to change the permissions I am getting the error.

above mentioned steps we have already performed to resolve the issue but non of the solutions worked for me. I assume that the provided solution will work for Intranet/internal problem.

Please provide the solution for the Internet Access issue.

Thanks

Hirnav
