When do software update packages get updated automatically whenever an update is added to a package?

I added (downloaded) a software update to my baseline software update package, created a software update group, and then I manually updated the package to all DPs. I had the pkgxfermgr.log file open and it shows that only one of my remote DPs updated this package, but I can see that this update was deployed to other clients that are assigned to another DP that is in their sites' content location boundary group. I can also see that the <PackageID>.ini file is in the other DP's PkgLib folder.

Whenever an update is added to a package, the package detects the change and updates the package to all DPs automatically with the deltas and does not send over the entire package, or is this NOT correct?

Thanks

Thanks Torsten. Do packages get updated on a schedule, or just whenever something is added or deleted?

If you add an update to a software package, it will automatically update the package and version.  If you delete an update then it will ask if you wish to update the DP. this is because you could be deleting several files and you don't want to have it keep refreshing.
