What would cause a 12 hive log error about quotas if no quotas are in effect?
MOSS 2007 system. 5 days ago, once an hour we get a 3 log line message saying:01/26/2010 08:00:02.01 OWSTIMER.EXE (0x0918) 0x095C SharePoint Portal Server User Profiles 837v Exception (Watson Reporting Cancelled) Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: Your changes could not be saved because this SharePoint Web site has exceeded the storage quota limit. You must save your work to another location. Contact your administrator to change the quota limits for the Web site. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8102004E): Your changes could not be saved because this SharePoint Web site has exceeded the storage quota limit. You must save your work to another location. Contact your administrator to change the quota limits for the Web site. However, when the web admin goes to central admin page, there are no quotas set for the site. What else might this be?

Looks to me as though you are using SQL Express which has a 4 gig limit on Database size. You should confirm this and if it is the case - upgrade your installation to SQL 2008 (at least Workgroup edition). There are several ways to go about this, but I would recommend that you backup your DB files, uninstall SQL Express, Install SQL 2008, recreate your DB's with the files you backed up and then test SharePoint. (Key to this working...back everything up!!!)I hope this helps and answers your question-Jeff DeVerter, MCSERackspaceblog:http://www.social-point.comtwitter: http://www.twitter.com/jdeverter

We are using SQL 2005 SP3, Enterprise Edition. The database is about 70 GB in size. I can provide all the lines from the 12 hive log file if that would be of use.

Hi, Please try to contact your server administrator to increase the storage quota that sites can use on that server then check the result. Hope it helps.Lily Wu
