What is default credential to login to Report Server (2008 R2)
I installed SQL Server 2008 R2 with SSRS on XP. During install, I provided user account to start the services, but not prompt for a user account for login SSRS. The installation completed OK. Then I went to the Report Server URL and was prompted for login user name and password. The User Name is pre-fed with the domain user name, for the password I tried the domain user password, as I login to Windows. It did not work. Then I tried data source (SQL Server instance) user ligin, not work either. What user/password I should use to login here?

Try the native administrator user and password.

Thank you for the reply. But did you mean the local admin of OS, or a type of user of Report Server?

Hi, Try to use Report configuration manager. in configuration manager you can edit your report server database and service account. and then login as db administrator and have fun. I hope this is helpful. Elmozamil Elamir MyBlogElmozamil Elamir Hamid http://elmozamil.blogspot.com

Hi luggg, In your case, I think that we can change the Report Server service account to “Network Service”. We can also remove “RSWindowsNegotiate” authentication and ensure “RSWindowsNTLM” is specified in the file rsreportserver.config. For more information about solving the Reporting Services Login issue, please see: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/lukaszp/archive/2008/03/26/solving-the-reporting-services-login-issue-in-the-february-ctp-of-sql-server-2008.aspx If you have any more questions, please feel free to let me know. I tried to start with Local System durint installation but got error. 2) In my rsreportserver.config I have <AuthenticationTypes> <RSWindowsNegotiate/> <RSWindowsNTLM/> </AuthenticationTypes> Do I need to remove <RSWindowsNegotiate/> even My SSRS (2008 R2 Evaluation) is started with Network Service ? regards

I went ahead to remove <RSWindowsNegotiate/> in file rsreportserver.config. Restarted the SSRS service, failed. Had to rollback the change. Then start SSRS OK. Did I misunderstood Bin Long or that solution does not apply to my case (2008 R2 evaluation) ? Thanks

Restarted the server box, and the report server, go to the report server url, and see two folders. Not be prompted login.

Hi luggg, I suggest you that refer to the following article about authentication types in Reporting Services, please see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc281310.aspx In this blog I posted above, we can remove RSWindowsNegotiate and ensure RSWindowsNTLM to deal with the login prompt issue. From your description, it seems you got a new problems when change the authentication. If so, please post the complete error message and more detail information for the further investigation. Or you can also open a submit a new post in this forum. Thanks, Bin Long Bin Long TechNet Community Support
