What is Windows sharepoint services
Can any one explain me exactly what is WSS(windows sharepoint services) and how it is related to microsoft office sharepoint server 2007? How sharepoint webapplication differ from normal ASP.net web app... I am very new to sharepoint. Explain it with few examples. Thanks SABARINATHAN87

Hi, SharePoint is build on top of the Asp.Net. WSS 3.0 is the Windows SharePoint Services (free) MOSS 2007 is the Licensed version which come with Standard and Enterprise Edition. Hi, SharePoint is actually an ASP.NET application. ASP.NET is creating web page and deployed in the server but the SharePoint is the common application where a Single web form can be used by everyone and it has the property to differentiate the different user the web form page.
