What is Meant By List
I'm basically trying to make some changes to a sharepoint site and am going through some books but I keep reading the term "list" but in not a programming light and it is never defined. Please can someone give a simple answer to what lists are in sharepoint
2007. Is it simply a listing of documents of certain type or is it more than that?
thanks,

A list of documents in SharePoint terminology would be a "Library". A list is just a list of items that contain the same type of information. For example, a calendar is just a list of Event items that are displayed in a calendar form.
Each event would have a title, start Date, stop Date, description, etc. A collection of Event items stored together are stored in a "List". You can have lists of Events, announcements, tasks, etc.Paul Stork SharePoint Server

It can be done in either SharePoint Designer or just using the Web interface. Here's an article on how to create a list.
