Hello, Recently, I found there are some heartbeat alerts generated, however, the servers are working fine while the heartbeat generated. I had do the research, network/server seems no problem and no abnormal problem happened. In our company, we deploy RMS and MS servers in one site:A, GW and agents in the other site:B. they are all in the same domain. I would like to ask some questions? 1. do you know what can cause the problem? any explanation or article? 2. how does the SCOM work when the gateway server's site network lost connection with RMS&MS servers' network? If the heartbeat alerts of all the agents in the same site with gateway will flush to the SCOM console?or just the gateway servers will generate the alerts? If all of the agents will generate heartbeat alerts, when do they generate in SCOM console? are they send to the RMS by GW? or are they just generated in RMS server itself? More questions: 1.Moreover,does the heartbeat failure alerts generated when agent cannot contact to gateway or RMS? 2.Does the heartbeat packet be sent to gateway server or RMS to keep the notification? (noted: the gateway is the primary management server of agent) 3.What's the MS server does it say in the reference below, primary management server(GW) or RMS or MS? Heartbeat interval and number of missed Heartbeats. If the MS fails to receive a Heartbeat from an Agent computer greater than the number of intervals specified, the Health Service Heartbeat Failure monitor will change to a critical state and generate an alert. 4.SO, If the heartbeat is sent to the gateway server, then the heartbeat failure alerts will not generate when connection between GW and RMS server lost.
