Hello, SSRS 2005 need's a running IIS to host the report manager side & reports; SSRS 2008 and higher version have there own HTTP.SYS for hosting, so they don't need IIS. AFAIK this is the only main archituctual changing between the versions.Olaf Helper * cogito ergo sum * errare humanum est * quote erat demonstrandum * Wenn ich denke, ist das ein Fehler und das beweise ich tglich Blog Xing

Hi bandlamudi123, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services introduces many new features and enhancements that increase the reporting capabilities of people who develop reporting solutions. Compared with SSRS 2005, the main change as Olaf Helper posted, is the removal of Internet Information Services (IIS) dependencies. For more details about New Report Server Architecture in SSRS 2008, please see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630410(v=sql.100).aspx#robustServer. Thanks, Lola Wang Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help.
