What are databases whose names start with WSS_Content_ ?
MOSS 2007- medium farm - dedicated SQL 2005. I have some conent databases which must be created by sharepoint. Their names are like: WSS_Content_********-****-****-************ I can't find any of them in the central admin databases. What are they? Sara

Does this mean I can delete those databases with no problem if I don't find any of those databases in the Central Administration > Application Management > Content Databases under any web application? Thanks,Sara

You may want to check if any other instences of SharePoint is sharing the sql server first. I would take that database offline first and wait to see if anything happens first.HTH Nagesh S Days and years do not mean anything to me. Moments shared are frozen in their time frame. Distance or time never fades them for me. I cherish them like my life. I have never let them sleep alone. Sachi

the database was in use. But, I can't find it anywhere from the Central Admin that the database is connected to anything. could it be just crawl was holding it? I get the "no stat" error message in sql log for all two search databases while I have only one ssp.( I am on the third ssp generation and have deleted the previous versions) How can I get the list of databases in use from the stsadm?
