Weird behaviour

Its 2014 SQL Server and sql server 2005 on both location I cant find the folder "test1".  below is the link which was available before,

http://server/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx?ItemPath=%2ftest1&ViewMode=List

but somehow reports inside those folder are working fine with passing direct URL like

http://server/ReportServer?%2Ftest1%2Fxyz%20for%20ABC&rs%3AParameterLanguage=en-US

above reports is inside test1 folder but its not visible to the person who created it neither to admin users. while reports are working. I have search catalog tables and reference its not there and even I have checked folder settings/permission and Hide from tile view option which is not checked even, I am surprised how and where the folder is?????? how I can make it visible and how I can see all reports inside it.

please suggest.

Hi,

According to your description, the test1 folder is hidden in Report Manager but you can visit the report in the folder, now you want to make the folder visible, right?

In your scenario, since you can access the report on report server URL, the report and folder directory are still existing on report server. Does it throw any error when you access report via the Report Manager URL? Or the Report Manager URL can still navigate you to the folder but the folder is not visible on Home Page?

Also you have checked theres no issue on settings and permissions. I suggest you can check if theres any modification on Home web page (Home.aspx file under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS12.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportManager). Someone may hide the test1 folder via script code.

If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

Shrek Li
