Webdav and SSL on PageViewer Web Part folder option - The path to the folder is not valid for the Link property
Sorry, possible repost. Is it possible to UNC path to an Library folder in a PageViewer Webpart folder option or otherwise to have a page in sharepoint open a specific folder on an SSL site?I get this:The path to the folder is not valid for the Link property. Check the spelling and syntax, and then type a valid path. my link looks like this and works if pasted into a start>searchbox, but not the pageviewer folder box.\\ourdomain.com@SSL\DavWWWRoot\sites\oursite\ourlibrary\ourfolderThanks.

It is possible to use UNC, but the path you provided isn't going to be valid. You will not be able to reference any of your site point sites, libraries, or folders via UNC because they don't physically exist that way. WebDav normally works great with the regular site path within client apps, ex. https://ourdomain.com/sites/oursite/ourlibrary/ourfolder but since you are trying to load this in a browser it is going to treat it like a regular web page. What are you ultimately trying to accomplish that you need the web dav look? You have options like using a list view set to the "Explorer View" if you really had to show the files as icons that can be dragged and dropped.SharePoint MVP | Developer | Administrator | Speaker-- Twitter -- Blog - http://nextconnect.blogspot.com

FYI WebDav only works on Port 80 all other ports use FPRPC....-IvanIvan Sanders My LinkedIn Profile, My Blog, @iasanders.

Ivan,I was able to open a pdf file from sharepoint and then save it (back) to a SharePoint library on my ssl site using this same WebDAV naming convention \\ourdomain.com@SSL\DavWWWRoot\sites\oursite\ourlibrary\ourfolderWebDAV does appear to work with SSL.My guess, it appears the Page Viewer Webpart is having a form Validation issue with the @SSL string. It works fine to a non SSL using WebDAV site without the @SSL string.Mike,Sorry, Not understanding "using a list view set to the Explorer view". I don't see an option in the List View (for a document library) that would allow me to start at a subfolder. What web part do I add to my page? presuming the document libary itself.. but I don't see how to home it to the subfolder. Yes I could filter it out so that only that folder shows up, then users still will need to know to open the folder before dropping in documents. The Page Viewer Webpart folder option address this need specifically.Thanks.
