Web Console: Unexpected Error
Hi Dan, Thanks for the reply, but I'm afraid I'm not with you on being CU related. It was working just fine last week, was broken yesterday and it working (thankfully, but mysteriously) this morning. I'm wondering if it had something to do with open alerts associated with an agent (which no longer physically exists) that was simply deleted from the console because of the NullReference Exception.

SCOM 2007 R2 + CU4 on Server 2008 R2 / Web Console on RMS (this was working last week) When attempting to launch the SCOM Web Console from any location the following error is displayed: Unexpected error There was an error displaying the page you requested. Try the following: Restart the web browser Refresh the page If you are still not able to view the requested page, try contacting your administrator or Helpdesk Authentication Mode = Windows (no SSL) At the same time, we're getting the following ASP.Net error in the Application Log: =============================================== Event code: 3005 Event message: An unhandled exception has occurred. Additional Info that may be related: A computer object was deleted from the Administration\Agent Managed node of the console, but there were still open alerts from that machine. I discovered this when selecting an alert and getting a prompt with the following message: "An object of type MonitoringAlert with Id a9946460-fb96-4043-934f-b1ed0e30ebae was not found." Clicking the Show more information showed: Date: 8/1/2011 12:23:07 PM Application: System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 Application Version: 6.1.7221.61 Severity: Error Message: Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Common.ObjectNotFoundException: An object of type MonitoringAlert with Id a9946460-fb96-4043-934f-b1ed0e30ebae was not found. at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ManagementGroup.GetMonitoringAlert(Guid id) at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Mom.Internal.UI.Cache.AlertPropertySet.GetObject() at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Mom.Internal.UI.AlertDetailPaneController.GetDetailContent(DetailContextUpdate detailContextUpdate) at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Mom.Internal.UI.DetailPaneControllerBase.GenerateDetailContentJob(Object sender, ConsoleJobEventArgs args) at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Mom.Internal.UI.Console.ConsoleJobExceptionHandler.ExecuteJob(IComponent component, EventHandler`1 job, Object sender, ConsoleJobEventArgs args)

If you think this is CU related, you may want to open a support call for this behavior.Microsoft Corporation

Hi, Regarding the message “An object of type MonitoringAlert with Id a9946460-fb96-4043-934f-b1ed0e30ebae was not found.”, I would like to suggest you try clearing the console cache: Tired of your console throwing errors - or manually clearing your console cache? http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2007/12/19/tired-of-your-console-throwing-errors-or-manually-clearing-your-console-cache.aspx Hope this helps.
