Wan Accelerator -replacing secondary site server with branch DP
I would like to ask for some opinion about BDP and WAN Accelerator.Scenario 1:location has 100 systemsOSD and heavy software distribution is usedSecondary site is configured at the location on one server. The location has only one server which is a secondary site server as well. The organization wants to remove the server, implement WAN Accelerator and install multiple SCCM banch distribution points on existing workstations. This idea may sound crazy for a SCCM administrator. Can someone comment about similar experience where WAN Accelerator was used to remote sites where the number of systems was over 50 and OSD was used with software distribution and multiple branch distribution points existed at one site?So far a workstation can support up to 10 connections, but SCCM, AD, Oracle use up already 3 connections, so one workstation has 6-7 available connection left. Why not go with WAN Accelerator technology with multiple BDP at one location? Is there any document/white paper for WAN accelerator for SCCM for Branch Distribution Points?

IMHO, terrible idea. 100 systems is way too many for a BDP and I wouldn't even attempt multiple bdp's at one location. I prefer to never use BDP's, in a situation where a BDP is a good fit I normally think a WAN accelerator is a better idea. This situation is not a good fit for either because the client count is too high and the heavy OSD. John Marcum | http://www.TrueSec.com/en/Training.htm | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum
